Clinical Sites

Highline College Respiratory Care program has outstanding clinical sites in the greater Seattle area.

Highline College Respiratory Care program has run continuously since it admitted its first class in 1967.

The program has built strong relationships throughout the greater Seattle area with hospitals and normally has students in Harborview Medical Center, University of Washington Medical Center, Seattle Children’s Hospital and Regional Hospital 2 or more days a week for many years.

Additional clinical sites normally are Virginia Mason Hospital, Swedish Hospital, Valley Medical Center and Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital. Additional hospitals are added as needed.

Students in the program are placed in small clinical groups of 4-6 quarterly with a clinical instructor.

Clinical is hand-on with students working actively with patients on the floors, emergency department, intensive care unit and more.

Although students are prepared for floor care patients emphasis is on the critical patients in the intensive care units.
