General Information

  1. You can apply when you have completed at least 30 of the 45 prerequisite credits.  Remaining credits must be completed prior to acceptance.
  2. Dates for accepting applications and notifying applications of status will be posted in this location when the application becomes available.
  3. You need to pay an application fee to apply to the BAS programs, there is information provided on this when you go to the web page with the application:  https://appliedbachelorsapp.highline.edu.
  4. Select Respiratory Care.
  5. Select Apply now (scroll down until you see this button link).
  6. Log in (upper right corner).
  7. Scroll down on page to Apply for a Program.
  8. Choose: Respiratory Care (entry to profession).
  9. Select: Apply.
  10. Fall start (a new cohort starts each fall quarter).
  11. Under Eligibility Requirements click on ‘I am within 30 credits of Associate Degree’ and if you have paid at this point you can also review the Preferred admission criteria that lists the courses needed (note: microbiology can be taken during the program but it is strongly recommended you take this prior).

Application Process

To be considered for the Bachelor of Applied Science program, prospective students must submit the following:

  • Completed Highline bachelor “Application for Program Admission” forms;
  • Nonrefundable application fee;
  • If transferring in prerequisite credits you must provide official transcripts from a regionally accredited college or university.

Program Eligibility

To qualify for admission to Highline’s BAS Respiratory Care Program, eligible applicants must have:

  • You have completed at least 30 of the 45 prerequisite credits.
  • If transferring in prerequisite credits you must provide official transcripts from an accredited college or university.
  • A GPA of 2.5 or better on all prerequisite courses.

Random Selection Process

  • If there are more applicants than openings in the program, Random Selection will be done using the BAS Respiratory Care rubric.

Deadlines

  • Students can take prerequisites up through summer quarter for the fall quarter class.  Applications will be accepted until class is filled.
